MADE IN AMERICA!

Creating something beautiful and functional is always a source of pride at JP&CO. However, we had a special sense of accomplishment during this year’s Parade of Homes Showcase. This is because the refined South Minneapolis rambler we revealed was not only stunning and functional, but also constructed with more than 95% of the products used made in America. Not only did the beautiful 12-foot addition flow seamlessly to a warm and welcoming kitchen and great room space complete with cozy fireplace, but its production also supported local businesses and reduced our carbon footprint.

Fresh Kitchens & Fresh Foods

We had a great Spring Showcase Event earlier this month. Both homes graciously entertained large parties of 60+ guests with plenty of space to mingle. A huge part of a well-functioning kitchen is the food you prepare in it. I love to cook and I’ve found some great local organic farms and markets that are great sources of outstanding produce. Read on to discover my favorite spots for fresh local organic produce (many of which were recommendations from clients who share my love of cooking).

Look for us in Mpls/St. Paul Magazine this month! This fall we completed a beautiful remodel off Edgecume road in St. Paul. The home was an architectural remodel that transformed the entire main floor plan on the interior and the entire exterior facade as well as landscape.

Have an empty wall in the house? One of the best ways to fill that space...family photos with a creative twist. All black and whites, different sized frames/images, various frames are a few. Displaying them in a collage or horizontally aligned balanced rows on the wall, either will add personal touch to your space. Houzz.com's ideabook feature of the day has 20 great ways to display family photos and they are all unique so there is sure to be a style that would fit beautifully into a space in your home. Quick Tip: want to match the frames but don't want to pay for custom framing...go to a frame shop and have them make custom mattes for all your pictures. Each photograph can be a different size but with a perfectly cut matte they will all look custom framed at a fraction of the price.

Twin Cities Ranks #3 in Top 100 Markets for Remodeling

Remodeling Magazine ranked the Twin Cities and it's core seven-county region the #3 Remodeling Market for 2011 in the US. Minneapolis/St, Paul's diverse economy and high quality of life along with steady growth have made the area prime for investing in remodeling. The strong city neighborhoods have held their values and the once sprawling metro has seen a shift back to the city core. The index measures remodeling acitivity, urbanization, household demographics including hobbies, family life, family stutus and so on. The number one city was Cincinnati and number two is Houston. Remodelers Showcase Books are now out at Holiday Gas Stations Stores.. We have two homes this Spring that are worth seeing! Mendota Heights we have a beautiful kitchen, greatroom and more! The other home is in Minneapolis. This home is a whole house remodel with a very nice addtion with kitchen and sunroom. Hope you can make it for the event!
